The coloring has a marble effect that makes them look similar to labradorite. Remember, cabochons have a flat back with no hole.
The vintage cabochons are new, old stock that had been sitting in a warehouse for years and now brought to you to create your jewelry designs. They have been sitting around for decades which can cause dirt or dust to accumulate on them and might need to be wiped or washed clean as I do not go through each bead.
